Can’t clear fault codes in free version if you use obd doctor app, but you can see fault codes, not sure about torque app,
1) download app Obd doctor,
2) connect scanner to the car
3) switch on Ignition without starting the car.
4) see in wifi networks Vlink, connect to Vlink
5) open obd doctor, you will find on upper right small button to start connection, simple.

I ordered BT 3.0 because the main purpose is to read error codes and values of different components. Connects easily with my Suzuki Celerio and old Suzuki cultus. I also have Vgate ELM 327 v2.1 from 2017 and that still works. 2.3 version has better and faster connection compared to its predecessor.
